AIMS Orchestra Admission Process
A stepwise guide
 
Auditions
Click on Audition Info for the audition procedure, required repertoire and web link to register for an audition. The cost of an audition is $42. No other fees or payments are due until AFTER you are offered a contract to participate in the AIMS orchestra.   • After registering for an audition, you will receive a Confirmatory email with the link to a document, the Orchestra Audition Questionnaire and Report. These are the instructions you will be given:
    1. OPEN and PRINT this document.
    2. FILL OUT the questionnaire, attach a small photo and your one-page résumé.
      Your résumé should include competitions you have won/placed. The judge will use page 2 of the document to record the results of your audition. Also, please print the email you receive from PayPal confirming your payment.
    3. BRING these items to your audition.
    4. GIVE them to the AIMS representative.
  • For Recorded Auditions: register, pay the audition fee and send these same items with your recording to the AIMS Office.

Acceptance
You will be notified of your acceptance as a member of the AIMS Festival Orchestra on April 1 in two ways: by an Acceptance email and by posting your name on the Orchestra Roster on this web site. Your Contract will be attached to the email. Both the $250 Contract Deposit payment and your Signed Contract must be returned to AIMS within 14 days to hold your place in the orchestra. The 14-day period begins on April 1. A $25 fine is levied when the contract is not returned within two weeks. Efforts to replace you will begin promptly. Your responsibilities are to provide AIMS with a valid email address to receive your contract and to view the Orchestra Roster posted on April 1.

Your contract can be signed electronically by following the directions in your Acceptance email. Alternatively, you may print and sign a paper contract and return it within 14 days. You are requested to pay the $250 Contract Deposit by credit card through PayPal. A link to PayPal is provided in your acceptance email or you may use the "Make Payment" page on this web site. Checks will be accepted if received by AIMS within the 14-day period.

Enrollment
The next step is To Enroll as an AIMS orchestra participant. Click on the web link in your Acceptance email. To view the information AIMS needs for your enrollment, read the PDF documents below. You are not officially accepted until this phase is completed.

Travel
Please review the AIMS travel policies carefully. AIMS must have your travel plans (dates of arrival and departure in Graz, time, airline flight number) to have your room ready and for airport transfer purposes. This information can be recorded when you register through the link given in your acceptance email. Also transport arrangements for large instruments, if applicable, are made through this link.
