AIMS Festival Orchestra in Graz 2013

Auditions are required to participate in the AIMS Festival Orchestra in Graz. Personal auditions
are preferred; Recorded Auditions are accepted. You must bring with you the standard excerpts (listed below) for
your instrument. When no specific parameters are listed, play excerpts as stated in the standard excerpt books, choosing contrasting
sections if the excerpt is lengthy. AIMS has no age limits but pre-professional players should consider their readiness to perform
both operatic and symphonic music.

Personal Auditions

Registration
Click HERE to
register for a Personal Audition. [Note: All percussion auditions should be recorded auditions.] Payment of the audition processing
fee ($50) by credit card can be made during registration or use the Make Payment page on this web site. The Audition fee is
non-refundable. No other fees or payments are due until AFTER you receive a contract inviting you to participate in the AIMS orchestra.
Once your Audition City/Date is confirmed by AIMS, please view details of the Audition Site locations, addresses,
room numbers, driving directions, maps, etc. - Click HERE.
After registering for an audition, you will receive a Confirmatory email with the link to a document, the
Orchestra Audition Questionnaire. These are the instructions you will be given:
- Open and Print this two-page document.
- Fill out page 1 of the questionnaire, list your repertoire, attach a small photo and your
one-page
résumé. Your résumé should include competitions you have won/placed.
Page 2 of the document is used to record the results of your audition.
- BRING these items and your PayPal or other receipt for the audition fee payment
to your audition and
give them to the AIMS Representative.
Also included in this email will be a link to the players contract required by AIMS for participation in the orchestra.
Notification of Acceptance You will be notified of your acceptance in the orchestra 1) by an acceptance email
and 2) by the posting of the Orchestra Roster on April 1st after all auditions, both live
and recorded, are considered. Accepted players will receive an email offering them a contract and giving enrollment
instructions. Details of this procedure are given in the
Admission Guide for Orchestra.

Recorded Auditions

Recorded Auditions
Audio or video recorded auditions are accepted from October 15 to March 22. If positions are open in your category,
they may be accepted after March 22 and up to May 1. Please call the AIMS office if you wish to submit a recording after March 22.
[Note: All percussion auditions should be recorded auditions.] Each excerpt must be performed in one take without stopping the recording.
- Recorded auditions can be submitted through our online service, getAcceptd.com, which allows you to apply to AIMS from wherever
you live. Click on the Submit your digital audition button to see the AIMS page for information about online audition submissions.

Starting from the AIMS 'getAcceptd' page is necessary to access the requirements specific to the AIMS programs. After reading the information on the page,
click on Choose A Program, select Orchestra and your instrument category and then Get Started.
- The site will guide you through the procedure. Provide the required information about yourself, upload your video (preferred) or audio
recordings, a photo, a one-page résumé and pay the audition processing fee ($50). Your recordings may be in a single file or in separate files.
- The required audition repertoire and the fee ($50) are the same for Personal and Recorded Auditions. The audition fee is nonrefundable. No
other fees are due until after you have been accepted by AIMS.
- Recommended but not mandatory: a brief letter of evaluation from your teacher and/or coach (where applicable).
